Majority of sewing revolves around girls and women however, today we are switching it up. Today I am joining my fellow bloggers on the Boys in Summer tour hosted by Made for Little Gents. She will be continuing several other tours throughout the year inclusive of all ages. I decided to make my son the GYCT primary tee from some leftover Joanns Doodles Boarding Bear fabric as he really loved this print from the Ellie and Mac hoodie I made back in March.
I love the GYCT patterns because they are really simple and great for everyday use. My kiddos aren’t too fancy and my son cares more about the print. This pattern is really easy to make and I owed my son this one from when I made my daughter the dress portion in the testing round. It is just over 10 steps, about 20 inches of fabric with the neckbands coming from knit I have for such small parts of a project. Or adding another 2 inches for the neckband piece and scraps for the pocket. I added a pocket at my son’s request.
I think it came out pretty good. He loved it, because he chose the print and I put in the pocket he wanted. Now he says he can put all his rocks or toys in there. I am glad my guy is happy and I know he will be rocking out in this all summer. I chose a size 6 as he is in between a 5 and 6 now and boys grow so fast. Let me know your thoughts, in the comments below.
